Haiku Friday

Friday Finally
a very very long week
first graders tire me out

Yeah hi out there. I know I've been fairly scarce. I'm still trying to figure out how to teach first graders. I have a feeling this feeling won't change for some time. Yeah....nice, I know. I'm admitting that I know next to nothing. Ok, not nothing. My friends assure me I'm doing great. (thank you friends) It would just feel so much better to feel like I knew what the hell I was doing. Ya know?

And with that I'm out. Happy Friday to you all. We've got a pumpkin patch party this weekend, I have a nail appointment and Mr. Tall works on Sunday. Fun times. Monday takes me to a district math committee meeting. Wish me luck.

What do I think? I think you are going to do great because you care. You care enough to worry that you aren't doing enough. I did it thirty years and I always worried that I didn't get it right, I could have done more -- but you know what, all but a very few of the kidos I taught graduated from high school and many of those who went on to college and now make more than I ever did. I like to think I played a part in that even if it was just a small part. You are doing great and your students will make you proud -- maybe not right now, but some day. Just hang in there. :)

My guess is that it is something similar to herding chickens.
